Do YOU Know What Today Is?

Yes, I'm quite the master of subtlety, aren't I? Not to mention humility. And that's probably more of Web Guy Josiah than you ever wanted to see, but hey - I likes it, and it's my day, so in it goes. MUAHAHAHA and so on.
Whooo my god, I seriously did four comics today. That may not seem like much to you all, but for me it means that from 12 PM to about 11:46 PM I was at the computer, with breaks for food, bathroom, and a brief respite to go grocery shopping. It is hard-core comicking like I've rarely done before. And all so you guys can get your updates whilst I'm out on vacation. That is my gift to you. Cherish it, my duckies.
Also? Someone (NO NAME was included, adding to the mystery) sent us - seriously - a snack set from Hickory Farms. FOR REALS. Almost as if they knew what I wanted - what I REALLY wanted - only blah blah damnation and they hit a fallback. But we totally love it, and it is indeed savory. I thank you kindly, as-yet-unnamed giver of delicious pre-wrapped meats and cheeses, and ask you to reveal yourselves that we may give you more personalized thanks. ::bows in thanks and supplication::
Anyhow! Speaking of gifts, what better to get for the one you love than the Cardboard Tube I took to BlizzCon? Not only was it featured on G4 TV and on the Blizzard site, but it was also signed by the illustrious Tycho & Gabe! And most importantly - all of the proceeds will go to the Child's Play Charity, which helps out needy kids in children's hospitals in the US, Canada, and the UK. You want in on this? YOU SHOULD! Check out the eBay auction and bid for a good cause!
And now without any further ado - LINKSTRAVAGANZA!
* So certain symbols have arisen to supplement the English language - the ampersand (&) for "and," the at symbol (@), and so on. The Internet has also made certain phrases into short acronyms. What if - and run with me here - we posited that these Internet acronyms became separate symbols? See the amusingness of "wtf" and "lol" distilled!
* Ahem. OMG Sam & Max comic HOORAY!!! And that's all you need to know. Now go!
* HOLY CRAP SOCKBABY! If I try to explain this, it will ruin it for you - so just go and watch with utter and complete glee. Douglas TenNapel FTW!
* And again, HOLY CRAP KATAMARI DAMACY SHIRTS! Sadly no women's shirts. But does this mean I won't get one? HELL NAW. Use your noggin, son! I LOVE me the Katamari!
* So you're tired of the media demonizing video games? WELL. Read and cheer as MIT Professor Henry Jenkins proves the critics wrong in the article "Reality Bytes: Eight Myths About Video Games Debunked." It is seriously all kinds of awesome.
* Sweet! Really badass video for Jason Forrest's neato song "War Photographer". Sweetmeats! Reminds me of Samurai Jack, which is a Very Good Thing.
* Zowie! A video of hardcore badass parkour action! If you know what that is, sweet. If not, watch it with your mouth agape at the awesomeness. WOO!
* So you think you're pretty badass at Tony Hawk's Underground 2, huh? Well, can you beat a 700 MILLION POINT COMBO?? Yeah, I thought not. Watch, gasp, and try not to pee in your underpants at the insanity. OH EM GEE!
* What's that? You suck at finding presents for people? Well... it's a bit late to help THIS holiday season, but in the future you should visit Surprise.com - a very clever little site that essentially combines like 300 descriptive categories (like "computer nerd" or "likes peace & quiet") to help you find all sorts of really unique and nifty gifts from all over the web. Annie likey!
* Last but not least, an announcement: Hayao Miyazaki's next film is going to be Ursula LeGuin's Earthsea series. If you don't understand how this is mind-blowingly awesome, there is nothing for you to do but go out and watch every Miyazaki film and read every Earthsea book. Because - SO GOOD. SO VERY GOOD. The end.
Well, I think that nice wad of link-ey goodness ought to hold you for a while: if you'll excuse me, I'ma enjoy my birthday a bit more. AND NOW IS TIME FOR CAKE!
